PREAMBLE

The Christ the Pantocrator Sovereign Order of Chivalry is sovereign because it owes its existence to Christ God the King of Humanity, and it is to Him alone that we pay worship. It is the highest Order of Chivalry in the Syro-Russian Orthodox Catholic Church and is therefore under the administration of the Holy Metropolia and its Primate, and assisted in governance by the Holy Synod of Bishops and Grand Chancellery.

It awards Letters Patent, i.e., an open document, issued under Seal and Signature from the Holy Metropolis, authorizing the person named therein to act under a conferred title and granting special privileges under such within certain parameters familiar to title and/or rank. Once such a document is issued - it is for life. Exceptions are (1) The recipient is advanced to a higher title or rank; (2) It is rescinded for grave and serious cause by the Holy Metropolis; (3) The recipient commits an infraction of any law or policy governing the Order; (4) The recipient abandons the true Christian Faith. Should the holder repose, he still maintains his rank and is prayed for annually by the Order. Upon retirement or resignation one will still maintain the title and/or office last given.

Those inducted into this Sovereign Order are highly honored by the Metropolia as Persons of Distinction. They are so recognized for service given to the Church and/or Metropolia; Dedication to their Vocation and/or Ministry; Philanthropic Achievements in the Name of God; Humanitarian Service; and Support given to the Metropolia of the Syro-Russian Orthodox Catholic Church. However, those so honored must have a good characters that radiate positive and honorable ethics and morals.

His Beatitude has dedicated this Order to all the Bishops, Clergy, Monastics and Laity who have passed on since the canonical establishment of this jurisdiction in May of 1892. May their memories be eternal and peaceful by the grace of God.
